Our Mission
Our mission is to work with the business community of Mpumalanga by broadcasting their brands and providing professional advertising messages to the community at large. We are committed to presenting our programs in a professional way that can easily be compared to any larger stations across the nation. MPowerFM is an English music radio station that is committed to all sectors of the Mpumalanga community by acknowledging its talents and expertise. Our growing listenership bares testimony to the fact that MPowerFM is becoming a pure brand of the province. Continuous surveys are being done to understand the needs of its listeners.
We are also striving to make it possible for the business community and charity services to come together in a way that is beneficial to all by running ongoing campaigns like Take a Step for Charity.

MPowerFM has the vision of becoming the best radio station in South Africa by focussing on Mpumalanga and meeting the expectations of the people in this province. It is our belief that with passion and committment, we can reach all our goals and become a radio station that is there for everyone to enjoy and be the true Rhythm of Mpumalanga!
Our History
MPowerFM was a dream that became a reality in the early part of 2006. With AME and Direng, shareholders and owners of various radio stations in South Africa, approaching the Lowveld Chamber of Business and Commerce to enter into a bid for the tender of the only commercial radio licence to be issued by ICASA in Mpumalanga. After a lengthy process of aquiring potential local investors, as well as investors from up country, a successful bid was presented to ICASA and won. This resulted in the birth of MPowerFM - the first and only commercial radio station in Mpumalanga.
State of the art equipment was installed into their studios, which broadcast across the province on the 7 frequencies made available to them by Sentec. From Secunda to Pilgrims Rest, the Rhythm of Mpumalanga is played with the best music variety.
Over the past 4 years some changes have occurred, with challenges that are faced by many startup companies. From opening the Witbank (Emalahleni) Studio at the Ridge to moving their main studio's to the Grove Shopping Centre in the Riverside Precinct in Nelspruit. Things have progressed and MPowerFM is fast becoming the heart of Mpumalanga. With great emphasis being placed on supporting charities and communities with specific needs, the radio station continues to strive and meet the expectations of the community at large.
