Prosperous Bam
“I always say treat others the way you want to be treated.” These are the words sports writer, Prosperous Bam lives by. When one takes a look into his life, you will find he is definitely a man who deserves respect.
Behind the MPOWERFM curtain, Prosperous is a stuntman who has a whole list of both national and international movies under his belt. This includes Ghost in the Darkness, Spear, Delta Force and Child of Soweto to name a few. He has also made a guest appearance in the popular South African soapy, Scandal. Scenes with either bullet hits or fighting scenes are his specialty. He even has a second Dan black belt in the Japan Karate Association (JKA) style.
In 2000 Prosperous decided to settle for another kind of sport, compiling sport news bulletins for Eastrand Radio. Then in 2007 he joined the opening of a new exciting radio station in Mpumalanga, MPOWERFM.
According to Prosperous his most embarrassing moment on radio was when the prompter from which he reads the sport news froze one faithful day while he was live on air.
“I went into a real panic state but one learns how to handle these things too,” Prosperous says.
Prosperous is a very versatile person who has great passion for all types of sport and enjoys working with interesting people from all walks of life. Besides loving sport, he also enjoys watching movies and listening to music. This ranges from Classic Rnb, gospel, house, Maskandi and “anything that goes with my mood,” he says. He is a loyal Isidingo fan and his favorite movies include Predator 1, vampire movies and Leon Schuster movies.
Coming from a Christian background, he lives in grace and has no greater desire but to sit down and have a conversation with the man Himself. Still sticking to his roots, this African man enjoys a good Uphuthu, home made biscuits and of course, meat. Amandla!
